Public forum for Albany school board candidates Monday
A reminder that the second of two public forums for this year's school board candidates will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Pine Hills branch of the Albany Public Library.
Four candidates are seeking two seats in the Nov. 4 elections. Visit the district website for more information. Monday's forum is sponsored by the Montessori Community Council (Montessori Magnet School's version of a parent-teacher association).

Albany school board candidates forum October 16
Three candidates are seeking two available seats on the City School District of Albany Board of Education this fall.
Current board members Sue Adler and Edith Leet both are running for re-election. Anthony Owens also will be on the Nov. 5 ballot.
The Albany City Council PTA and The League of Women Voters have scheduled a board candidates forum at Albany High School on Wednesday, Oct. 16 beginning at 6 p.m. The forum will provide an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their vision for the future of Albany's public schools.

Albany School Board OKs 2012-13 budget proposal
The City School District of Albany Board of Education approved a $207.7 million 2012-13 budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal includes a 1.5 percent tax-levy increase and, according to the district, "maintains academic, extracurricular and social-emotional programs for all of the district's 8,700 students."

The Albany City Council PTA and the League of Women Voters of Albany County are sponsoring a Meet the School Board Candidates Forum on Tuesday, October 18th, 6:30-8:30pm, in the North Cafeteria at Albany High School.Please come and meet the candidates, Melissa Mackey, Ginnie Farrell and Sue Adler,and hear what they have to say. There will be an opportunity for questions.
