UNDERGROUND RAILROAD WALKING TOUR on Father's Day

UNDERGROUND RAILROAD WALKING TOUR HIGHLIGHTS CAPITAL REGION AFRICAN AMERICAN
ABOLITIONISTS AND FREEDOM SEEKERS

Celebrate Fathers’ Day by hearing a new interpretation of an old story in this 90-minute walking tour to be held on Sunday, June 15 in downtown Albany. Historic Capital Region Underground Railroad abolitionists and freedom seekers will be featured in this tour that begins at 1pm at the Albany Heritage Area Visitors Center. Join independent researchers Paul and Mary Liz Stewart to hear about and celebrate the stories of Capital Region residents who engaged in the 19th century national movement of civil disobedience known as the Underground

Railroad movement while visiting documented locations where these activists walked, lived, and worked. Dad's walk free of charge. Cost is $7 for those walkers 16 years and older. Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to researching, celebrating, and preserving the story of the Underground Railroad in the Capital Region with an emphasis on African American abolitionists and freedom seekers.
